UPM-MALAYSIAN PRISONS DEPARTMENT PROGRAM (JELEBU) COLLABORATE TO HELP PRISONERS

On 5th July 2023, through Universiti Community Transformation Center, UPM, ITAFoS was invited to deliver a lecture and practical on the techniques for silage production from Napier grass to the participants, among which were 30 inmates of Malaysian Prison Department, Jelebu, Negeri Sembilan.

This program aimed at sharing knowledge and proper techniques for producing feed silage. With this program, it can be one of the initiatives for the participant to generate income when they are out of prison.

All participants expressed their interest and commitment to our staff, En. Eddy Shahriza and En. Fazmen, who taught them about silage production. The program began with a theoretical explanation of feed silage, followed by a practical session on producing silage. The participants were divided into several groups to make the feed silage. This feed silage will be used later as feed for their livestock.

Hopefully, the program could promote some ideas and knowledge to the inmates so that they can use the opportunity to start their new life by producing silage in the future.
