MEGA RAYA AIDILFITRI CELEBRATION 2024 INSTITUTE OF TROPICAL AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY (ITAFoS), UPM

Serdang, 23 April 2023 - In line with the announcement by the Management of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) that the Mega Raya Aidilfitri 2024 UPM Celebration Ceremony will be organized simultaneously on 23 April 2024 by each Responsibility Center (PTJ), Residential College, Association/Association including UPM Campus Bintulu, Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Food Security (ITAFoS) held the ceremony in the afternoon.


The ceremony, which started at 2.30 pm, aims to strengthen friendship between ITAFoS and UPM citizens. The ceremony started with a speech from the Director of ITAFoS, Prof. Dr. Anjas Asmara@Ab. Hadi Samsudin and continued with prayer recitation and dining session. While the guests dined, they were entertained with a lucky draw activity led by the ITAFoS Welfare and Recreation Club Committee. The purpose of this activity is to liven up the celebration of the holiday and to strengthen the relationship between ITAFoS members.


The ceremony then welcomed the presence of the Vice Chancellor of UPM, YBhg. Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah who was also present livened up the ITAFoS 2024 Mega Raya Celebration. The ceremony continued with the presentation of the Most Beautiful Fashion prize by YBhg. Prof. Dato' Vice Chancellor to the winners. Four winners have been selected which are Glam Clothing for Men in the Staff Category (Mr. Nik Mohd Rodzha Nik Mohamed), Glam Clothing for Men in the Student Category (Azhar Malek), Glam Clothing for Women in the Staff Category (Dr. Fatma Azwani Abdul Aziz), and Glam Clothing for Women in the Student Category (Azmiraah Abd Jabar).


Overall, the implementation of this event has successfully fostered the value of professional unity among ITAFoS members. In addition, with the existence of this program, ITAFoS citizens can immerse themselves and improve their knowledge about the Aidilfitri tradition that has almost been forgotten by the passage of time. Hopefully the implementation of this event can produce ITAFoS citizens who are proactive in cultural activities in Malaysia.
